Madhiriguraidhoo in the Lhaviyani Atoll is one of the Maldives' largest islands, and the Palm Beach Resort and Spa is Madhiriguraidhoo's largest resort. The Palm Beach is particularly popular with holiday guests on all-inclusive package tours.
Guests stay in suite-style accommodations or in villas scattered throughout the resort's four kilometers of white sand beaches. There are special villas set up for serious divers close to the 5-star PADI dive center. All accommodations feature satellite TV and DVD player, IDD telephone, mini-bar, air-conditioning and signature toiletries.
Guests dine at one of three restaurants featuring Italian, international and local Maldivian dishes, either a la carte or buffet style. There is also a coffee shop that serves an afternoon tea, as well as two bars offering wine, beer and cocktails.
The house reef offers a colorful assortment of marine life and an entrancing coral garden close to the resort. For divers who would like to explore other sites in the Lhaviyani Atoll, the dive center organizes expeditions every day. The dive center also sponsors night dives at least once a week.
Other water activities include jet skiing, water-skiing, wakeboarding, windsurfing and canoeing. The resort provides equipment and instruction. There are also tennis and volleyball courts on the island, as well as a squash court and a small football field.
The Coconut Spa provides a complete menu of beauty treatments and healing therapies in the Asian tradition, using products that are made from all natural ingredients.
The resort is popular with families. While the Palm Beach doesn't have a kid's club per se, it does have a dedicated team of babysitters, plus a kid's area with a small pool and football field all their own.
