Since most holidays to the Maldives are on one island - normally uninhabited apart from your resort - all the meals are taken in the hotel. Most hotels have multiple restaurants, so you should not be wanting for variety, but it does mean almost everything you eat and drink - at times even the mineral water - comes at a fee. This makes an all-inclusive package even more attractive than elsewhere in the world - why waste your meal times worrying about the size of the hotel bill when it’s time to go home?
Traditionally, all-inclusive holidays include food and drink, but many resorts offer extra items such as complimentary non-motorised water sports like windsurfing and sea kayaking, and excursions such as sunset fishing trips and picnics on local islands. A standard package might include food and drink from one restaurant while a premium package may include a choice of restaurants and selections from a minibar - some resorts even offer inclusive spa treatments for each day of your trip.
